My preferred colourway is the DAHOOD x new balance 57/40 “Yellow Green”. I was in Hong Kong for holiday in March, and luck was certainly on my side because Mong Kok-based footwear hub DAHOOD launched the collab and was lucky enough to get my hands on a pair.

I’ve just added the new balance 57/40 “Prism Purple” colourway to my collection, and I should say that it’s probably the best iteration so far. It has a easy off-white coloured base and contrasting purple hits, no bold co-branding details from collaborators, it’s easy but beautiful.

Like many other new balance pairs, I find the 57/40 fits true to size. They fit similarly to the 990v5 but they’re a little narrower so if you have larger feet consider going up half a size so it doesn’t feel tight across the toes.
